Psychology CPD

MCMI Training Programme

Description
This training is designed to aid psychologists and student psychologists in gaining a deeper understanding of the Millon® Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-fourth edition and in the assessment of mental disorders, identification of specific problem areas, and treatment planning in a variety of settings.

The MCMI®-VI is designed to help the clinician assess psychopathology with a specific focus on personality difficulties. It highlights potential problematic areas of personality along a continuum from normal personality styles to personality disorders. It is highly aligned with the DSM diagnostic system and is useful in clinical settings that require objective measurement of personality diagnoses and clinical syndromes.

It also allows for an in-depth understanding of a patient’s underlying personality according to Millon’s well-known theory of personality. This understanding of personality is used to create a nuanced understanding of a patient’s acute clinical symptoms that is useful in treatment decision making.
